The expat haven of Bangsar has a growing number of trendy nightspots where hip young locals adorned in the latest fashions rub shoulders with suited international businessmen. The vast majority of premises mentioned below are found in the various numbered Telawi streets. As you might expect, things at these Kuala Lumpur bars get much more lively at the weekend.

Chinatown is mainly the reserve of budget travellers, and this is reflected in some of the bohemian pubs and bars found here. A great choice is to people-watch from one of the casual roadside offerings that sell cut-price beer after dark. But if you fancy frequenting some KL bars with a little more atmosphere there are a few decent options.
